Piles is a fast-paced card game where everyone plays at the same time, so there are no turns and no time to waste.
To play, players race simultaneously to be the first to sort their face-down cards into matching sets of clothings.
Setup
Build the deck: Use the guide on the game box to pick the right number of four-card clothing sets based on your player count (for example, 13 sets for two players, or 25 sets for four players). Shuffle those sets together.
Deal the piles: Give each player six separate piles of four cards, placed face down. Players must not look at their cards yet.
Center cards: Place four cards face down in a row in the middle of the table.
Gameplay
Start: Everyone counts down from three and flips the four center cards face up at the same time.
No turns: The game happens in real-time. Everyone plays at once.
Swapping rules:
Pick up only one of your six piles at a time to look at it.
You can only swap cards with the center pile.
You must discard a card from the pile in your hand to the center before taking a new card from the center.
Each pile must always contain exactly four cards. You cannot move cards directly from one of your personal piles to another.
Put a pile back face down before picking up a different one. Only one pile can be in your hand at a time.
Winning the Game
When a pile contains four matching clothing items, turn that complete pile face up.
The first person to successfully turn all six of their piles face up yells "Piles!" and wins the game.
